What is Esmeralda’s Run?

The first Esmeralda’s Run was held in November of 2005 days after Esmeralda Werbeck passed away from a long battle with cancer. With tremendous support from family members and friends, Esmeralda’s son Brent Werbeck created the race as a memorial for his Mother. Esmeralda’s greatest fear was that she would be forgotten after she passed away. This race ensures that this fear never comes true.

The Austin Tennis Academy is located on Highway 71, 0.3 miles west of RR 620. From Austin head out Bee Caves Road (2244) to Highway 71. Turn right. Go straight through the light at Ranch Road 620. On the right you'll see a McCoy's Building Supply Center. You'll turn left here into Spanish Oaks. Go though the first roundabout and the Austin Tennis Academy is located at the second roundabout. The Race course

Starting and finishing at the Austin Tennis Academy, the race is located in the beautiful Spanish Oaks exclusive golfing community. The 5K and 10K courses wind their way through the scenic residential neighborhoods, while the Family Fun Mile guides entrants along a gorgeous trail inside the Spanish Oaks property.
